Refinitiv Lipper: European fund flow report - July 2022

Oh, we can always rely on Detlef and the gang! 'He's the hardest-working man in show business, boss.' That's me, idiot!

Anyway ...

Long-term mutual funds (-€41.8 bn) posted estimated net outflows for July 2022.
All asset types faced estimated net outflows for July 2022.
The overall fund flows for mutual funds and ETFs in Europe in July amounted to estimated net redemptions of €41.7 bn.
Money market funds (-€0.1 bn) were the best-selling asset type overall for July 2022.
Bond USD Government (+€2.6 bn) was the best-selling sector among long-term funds.
Ireland (+€4.1 bn) was the fund domicile with the highest net inflows, followed by Switzerland (+€1.3 bn) and Norway (+€0.5 bn).
abrdn (+€2.6 bn) was the best-selling fund promoter in Europe for July, ahead of State Street Global Advisors (+€2.5 bn) and Legal & General (+€2.5 bn).

Oh dear!

Detlef, what does it all mean?!

Detlef Glow, Head of EMEA Research at Refinitiv Lipper, comments: "Mikey, given the positive market environment over the course of July 2022, it was somewhat surprising that the European fund industry faced outflows over the course of the month. That said, one needs to bear in mind that the geopolitical situation in Europe, the still ongoing The Thing, disrupted delivery chains, an increasing inflation and increasing interest rates are impacting the expectations of the investors."

It's those investors again!

All right.

Thanks, man.

ENDS

...

I will be the hardest-working man in show business ... once I can escape this blog. 'And everything else you have to escape from.' That's right, Voice. Everything else. No one knows the troubles I've seen. But I don't complain.

Anyway ...

I've decided to rearrange my BIG TEN in the lower positions -

Mighty Soul
Shady, Dodgy, Shifty
The Future
Life and Death
Nothing
This World Don't Mean a Thing
Stella
Malibu
What's This Life We Live?
And Rain Came Down

I've moved Stella higher because it displays more songwriting skill than the others.

I've pushed And Rain Came Down to the bottom of the list because it's a "quirky" pop/rock ballad and the two ballads above it have more, uh ... "grandeur", you dig?

I'm much happier now!

'Ha! You're weird you are, Mikey!'

Shut up.

Bye, kooks!
