Long-term funds (+€25.0 bn) have posted net inflows for 2022 so far.
Money market products (-€113.6 bn) posted estimated net outflows for the year 2022 so far.
The overall fund flows for mutual funds and ETFs in Europe over the course of the year 2022 so far amounted to estimated net outflows of €88.6 bn.
ETFs enjoyed inflows of €38.3 bn over the course of 2022 so far.
Equity Global (+€28.4 bn) was the best-selling sector among long-term funds.
BlackRock (+€9.0 bn) was the best-selling fund promoter in Europe for the year so far, ahead of UBS (+€7.2 bn) and Vanguard (+€4.8 bn).
Switzerland (+€20.2 bn) was the fund domicile with the highest net inflows, followed by Germany (+€7.6 bn) and Spain (+€3.0 bn).

Detlef Glow, Head of EMEA Research at Refinitiv Lipper, comments: "It was not surprising that Q1 2022 was in general a negative quarter for the European fund industry given the geopolitical situation in Europe, the still ongoing The Thing, and the sluggish market environment. Within this market environment and given the economic uncertainties, one would expect that European investors sold long term funds and bought money market products. Therefore, it is somewhat surprising that European investors sold money market products, which are normally considered safe-haven investments, while long-term products enjoyed overall inflows. In more detail, long-term funds enjoyed estimated net inflows of €25.0 bn, while money market products faced estimated net outflows of €113.6 bn."
