No Bodies You Know

I

In the deep

That is where they are

And that is where

I join them,

As a mystic

I have seen

I have communicated,

As a mystic

I have left everything behind ...

To be with them, and ...

It’s wonderful, really

(The tragic scenes are somewhere else

Can you guess?)

As ... Beings Against Reality

They avoid the mess,

And—

Well, they try their best.

They hate the common world!

They hate—

Cars past the window, and other noises in the street

They hate—

Voices of all the walkers ...

They hate—

Days, and even ... the nights, with those talkers

They hate—

Sound of feet ...

They hate—

Sight of hands ... doing nothing that needs to be done

They hate—

Light from the sun

They hate—

Glow of the moon

They hate—

Someone ... whistling a tune ... ?

It’s just rubbish to them, and

I refuse to judge them!

Everyone who knows me knows

I can be

The hater of

A world I have never loved

In the deep

And no one

With flesh and bones—oh, and blood, too

The usual stuff

Actually knows me ...

You know?

II

In the deep

In the deep

In the deep ...

Visions that breathe

Do I have any friends?

Visions that breathe

I don’t have any friends, real humans;

I’ve discovered

Only the dreamy strangers can be trusted

And, and, and ...

It’s like my brain is busted

Wouldn’t you say?

And, and ... the night comes in

With the rain

So I find myself

Scared, wandering the hallway

Ah!

You can’t imagine!

Me

Seeing the walls growing ... darker

And—

Seeking the safety of my room

And wanting to sleep

Wanting to get ... so very deep!

Tell me ...

The misery! ...

Could it be

Could it be

Could it be any starker?

This is the way I live

In your world;

Where I’m going now

It’s all fun and games;

That’s something, “friend”.

III

And this is something ...

I dream

Heavy clouds across the sky

Slightly disturbing

But I don’t panic, ever

It’s a sky inside my eyes, that’s all

My closed eyes

In the black; and the blues,

These sensations—my mouth

Watery, and odd dry throat

And there’s a glow,

It’s just ...

Like no moon colour, red or

Colours in your world,

And there are different sounds, or

If I’m telling the truth

And I have no proof

Of anything, which is so frustrating

But it’s all different

With things that look the same

So, I get a different feeling;

And ... I can’t describe any of it

The way I want to,

And that’s my shame; but inside,

In me ... there’s a flame—

Brain mind soul

Oh I wouldn’t even know,

I’m so taken away

With suffering, from you

In this night

After a rotten day

With those figures moving

Now, and

Crowding around to see me

No sane person

Could possibly want to be me

And yet ...

I have no complaints,

And this may not surprise you:

I have no restraints

—Oh, my hot blood in this place!

It’s all right; my fire;

I’m just a guy from the human race,

I’m in a war—

It’s a war I started on myself,

I did it for my health;

I pushed into a strange land,

A spiritual ... Alexander, Caesar, or Napoleon!

Their brother!

A psychological adventurer!

A mystical and mythical (in time) whatever ...

Don’t ask me

All I can say is ...

A lot that shouldn’t be said,

All I can think is ...

I’m free

To believe

In visions that breathe

I’m here to stay;

And the power comes,

And this is The Way ...

Or it’s nothing.

IV

And—

I have tried to control

All this!

And I can change anything, yes

But it won’t help me

Or you

And I thought ...

I knew what the poem was about

In parts one and two,

But what the hell ... ?

The truth is:

Visions can come

And dominate the soul

Of any visionary.
