Export Finance Norway (Eksfin) is providing loan financing of EUR 525 mn to Ørsted of Denmark, one of the world's largest offshore wind developers. The financing is based on the purchase of two transformer platforms from Norway's Aibel for the Hornsea 3 offshore wind farm project in the UK. The transaction increases Eksfin's total offshore wind financing to nearly EUR 3.5 bn.

Hornsea 3, situated off the Norfolk/South Yorkshire coast, will be the world's single largest wind farm. It is expected to generate a minimum of 2.9 GW of electricity when in operation in 2027, enough to supply around three million homes with clean energy. It will be Ørsted's third gigawatt-scale project in the Hornsea zone following Hornsea 1 (1.2 GW) and Hornsea 2 (1.3 GW), which are already in operation.

Equity ETFs (+€14.5 bn) posted the highest estimated net inflows in the European ETF industry for February.

The best-selling Lipper global classification for February was Equity Global (+€6.1 bn), followed by Equity U.S. (+€3.9 bn) and Money Market EUR (+€1.1 bn).

Xtrackers was the best-selling ETF promoter in Europe for February (+€3.0 bn), ahead of UBS ETF (+€2.8 bn) and Amundi ETF (+€2.2 bn).

The 10 best-selling ETFs gathered estimated net inflows of €9.3 bn for February.

Nevertheless, since a number of shipping companies avoid nowadays the passage of the Suez channel, it is to be expected that the prolonged delivery times will cause some tensions for the still vulnerable delivery chains."

"Sales reservations are down around a third reflecting higher interest rates and weak economic sentiment. But pricing and margins have remained firm, while build cost inflation has moderated. This means the group has reiterated its medium-term profit guidance.

"The housing market remains in a tough spot, but Berkeley is well positioned to weather challenging conditions. It has net cash on the balance sheet and a great operational track record of delivering large urban regeneration schemes at scale, whilst returning significant cash to shareholders.

"Berkeley and the other builders are currently in 'wait and see' mode. Homebuyers remain cautious and mortgage rates are still prohibitive for many. This means the builders are focusing on existing sites, rather than committing to new ones. I'd rather be a dolphin. Not ideal for a nation dealing with a chronic housing shortage. 

"Meaningful interest rate cuts later in the year could yet spark the housing market back to life. But until then, caution is the order of the day."
