Anything else?
I did a bit of work on my new poem last night. Because most of the lines are quite short, I might go up to 180-190 lines.
Somewhere between 800 to 900 words ... ???
I think it will be the only long poem in the first volume.
I probably won't send poems to magazines and (other) competitions until after the National Poetry Competition in March next year. I'll have to get settled in Owlman land first - if I can. This means I can polish this poem for months if I need to. At the moment, everything I have is polished, but I've got to write a "visionary" section of eighty to a hundred lines. Actually, the whole poem is visionary ... it's just that the final part will be very visionary, you dig?
Writing these poems has been quite easy so far. And to a very high standard! I think that's because I did over a million and a half words of creative writing before turning to poetry (again). I doubt that any poet in history has ever had a Karate Kid period like that.
Do you know what I mean?
Laters.
