Garrett Berg has gone to Hoplite Capital Management

Yeah, as head of business development and investor relations. Over in America somewhere. New York, probably. And, er, Garrett "Ice" Berg used to be at BlueCrest Capital, and - 'Why do you call him "Ice", boss?' I don't call him "Ice", Voice. They do. Others. Not me. 'Well, okay, why do they call him "Ice" then?' Because Garrett is as cool as a cucumber. 'Oh. Shouldn't they call him Garrett "Cucumber" Berg then?' I don't know. You will have to speak to them about it, the others. Personally, I don't think it would make much sense. 'Maybe he's as cold as ice, rather than the cool cucumber thing.' Yeah, maybe. Does it matter? It's not really important, is it?

Hoplite Capital? Hoplite Capital Management, LLC is an employee owned hedge fund sponsor. The firm primarily provides its services to pooled investment vehicles. It invests in the public equity markets across the globe. The firm employs long/short equity strategy to make its investments. It uses a combination of fundamental analysis and quantitative analysis to make its portfolio. The firm uses external research to supplement its in-house research. Hoplite Capital Management, LLC was founded in February 2003. 'Who said that?' Me.

...

It's not really important. Garrett could be a man of fire, with intense passion, burning naked, in the desert, while mystic kooks play drums and chant, just like the old days.

Ha!

All I have right now is a cold, cold winter vision of outer space. I don't find God a great comfort. The idea of consciousness going on, and on, and on ... in other realms, other bodies, the nausea of existence, again, and again, and again, oh, it's not my cup of tea.

However, it might be nice to rest in the eternal darkness, unconscious, no worries, no bills to pay, alone.
