Victor says hello

Hello,

Hello, Victor!

'Hello, Victor!'

Welcome to my blog!

'Who is he, boss?'

He's Victor, Voice.

'Oh.'

Anyway ...

Europ Assistance announced today the acquisition from AXA Partners of its assistance businesses in Malaysia, Japan, Thailand, Hong Kong and Taiwan.

Oh, not today, surely?

'How old is this PR email, boss?'

Anyway ...

Please find attached and below the press release. If you'd like to get in touch, please don't hesitate to get back to me.

Kind regards,

Victor

Nice one, son!

'You don't know him, son!'

Ha, ha, ha! No one knows me, Voice.

'I do.'

Yeah, you do.

Anyway ...

Paris, June 5, 2023 - Europ Assistance announced today the acquisition from AXA Partners(1) of its assistance businesses in Malaysia, Japan, Thailand, Hong Kong and Taiwan.  With these acquisitions, Europ Assistance confirms the importance of this region to its sustainable growth strategy.

Fair enough. But what's this (1) business???

(1) AXA Partners Holding SA is the seller of AAN and AAI Hub in Malaysia. IPA SA is the seller of AXA Assistance Japan, IPA Thailand, IPA Hong Kong, and IPA Taiwan. This transaction does not include any insurance or asset management activities of AXA entities outside AXA Partners, which remain present in Asia.

Oh, okay.

Antoine? Make it good.

"Europ Assistance enjoys leadership positions in Europe, Latam and North America. With this acquisition, coming on top of several other recent investments, we are accelerating our effort to also reach a leadership position in the region, and further strengthen our global, multiline, and multichannel positioning," comments Antoine Parisi, CEO of Europ Assistance Group.

Okay.

'That was all right, boss.'

Yeah.

Let's see what Pascal can do ...

Since 2019, Europ Assistance, historically present in China, India and French Pacific territories, has opened offices in Thailand, Malaysia and Singapore, and has acquired the Australian and Middle Eastern subsidiaries of Mapfre Assistencia.

Er ...

'That wasn't Pascal.'

Pascal, mate!

For Pascal Baumgarten, CEO Mobility & International at Europ Assistance Group: "The acquisition of AXA Partners entities will allow us to strengthen our footprint in Thailand and Malaysia, to enter Hong Kong and Taiwan and re-enter Japan. In all these countries, we will be able to offer a complete range of assistance services to local clients (travel, mobility, personal assistance), and to develop our global travel insurance activity with both Asian partners and global partners willing to expand in Asia."

Not bad.

'It was good!'

Ha!

Whatever.

Anything else, kooks?

Why would there be anything else?! What's wrong with you people?!

'Tell them about the poetry.'

I ain't got much to say, Voice. I'm waiting for the National Poetry Competition to open. Come on, guys! Seriously!

'Who are you talking to?'

The poetry guys.

'Yeah, come on, guys!'

Okay. What else?

Oh, I was listening to a bit of that Elon Musk audiobook at the weekend, you know, by Ashlee Vance?

I have to say I've gone off him a lot, but -

'What?! Ashlee's all right!'

Ha! I mean, Elon, idiot!

'Oh.'

Yeah. However ... his achievements are still amazing. Except the Twitter "achievement", obviously.

'So, what bit were you listening to?'

Well, the chapter about the start of PayPal. I mean, everything was falling apart at one point. And their website was described as a Hollywood movie set that barely got past the venture capitalists.

The point is ... Elon had total belief and kept going.

Now, if he had only one song recorded - like me - he would be pushing it to everyone and telling them that he was the rock and roll messiah.

You dig?

So ...

Laters.

'Bye!'
