London Stock Exchange battles to stay relevant as pound hits record low

So ...

Experts warn that without changes, London's status as a global market could be downgraded to a regional exchange.

'Yeah, yeah. We've heard this before, boss. Is this a PR email from Nayan and Chloe?'

Yes, Voice. They're all right.

Nayan Gala, founder of global investment banking platform, JPIN, explains how the UK could benefit from reassessing its regulatory stance.

Fine

Hi Michael

Hello!

I hope you're well. Do let me know if you'd like to hear more from Nayan on this, or any related topics.

Okay.

With Friday's mini-budget marking the biggest tax cut since 1972, the Truss government is now well and truly on track with their long-term plans to boost Britain's economic growth and stimulate innovation.

Er ...

'Boss.'

What?

'When did you receive this email?'

Hang on a minute ... I don't know ... a few days ago, I think.

'Right. Look, why don't you do the new emails that come in every morning?'

Because I don't like all the emails, Voice! And I save the ones I like the look of.

'Okay.'

Anyway ...

The £45 million package included the announcement that corporation tax is set to remain at 19% instead of rising to 25%, which could pump a further £19 billion back into the economy.

Er ...

However, with the pound sterling tumbling to $1.03 against the dollar yesterday, experts are now warning that the new tax reforms in addition to the country's soaring interest rates, could increase the risk of global inflation. In addition to this, Nayan Gala -

Listen! I don't want to go through all this, man. I mean ... this is a music blog, kooks. 'And a fitness blog.' Yes, and a motivational blog.

WE DON'T DISCUSS FINANCE!!!

Anyway ...

Nayan? Come on, son!

Nayan Gala, investment specialist and founder of JPIN, comments on how the UK could benefit from relaxing current regulations:

"London has always been an attractive destination for companies looking to go public, with a particular interest from international businesses. The last few years have evidently raised a few hiccups on the road - but now, particularly with the opportunities Brexit has provided, regulations that once came with the stock market must be eased in response to this. This will likely assist with boosting the stock volume, value and quality, and could result in a significance bounce back of the LSE."

Okay, okay.

Only one question, Nayan ... Have you done your push-ups this morning?

[Crickets.]

'I don't think he has, boss. I don't think he does push-ups.'

Nayan, I want you to start off small ... just fifty push-ups every morning, Monday to Friday. You can have the weekends off.

Get back to me soon with your progress.

Anything else? Music?

Kooks, don't worry about my demo. It will be all right as long as my two best songs are on it ...

Mighty Soul
Shady, Dodgy, Shifty

You dig?

Now, pretty soon I'll have seventeen songs, and then I'll be able to concentrate on rehearsing and maybe playing lead guitar again.

[Should I buy a Yamaha keyboard ... ???]

And when I do write new songs ... I'll reject all ideas that aren't on the level of the two songs above ...

BECAUSE ...

As an unknown artist ... what use will other songs be to me?

'No use!'

Seventeen songs is enough, man. For the moment. You dig?

UNLESS ...

They're as special as these two ...

Mighty Soul
Shady, Dodgy, Shifty

I hope you dig.

Laters.

'Again!'

Mighty Soul
Shady, Dodgy, Shifty

Three times!

'Bye!'
